How It Works

Each component is first converted to a percentage (obtained ÷ maximum × 100), then multiplied by its weight. Your merit score is the sum of all weighted contributions. You can normalize weights to sum to 100 or scale them proportionally.

Since different departments publish different formulas, this page lets you edit every field. Load a demo preset and then replace with your official scheme.

Inputs Explained

  • Components: name, obtained marks, maximum marks, weight %, include/exclude
  • Options: normalize to 100; enforce weights sum 100 or auto-scale; rounding
  • Cut-off checker: load or enter category cut-offs to see Above/Below status
  • Presets/Import/Export: use demo presets (illustrative), import CSV, export CSV/JSON, share state via URL

Example

Demo (illustrative only): Weights → TET 70, HSC 10, SSC 10, Graduation 10

Suppose: TET 105/150 → 70.0%; HSC 78/100 → 78.0%; SSC 82/100 → 82.0%; Graduation 71/100 → 71.0%

Contributions:

  • TET = 70.0 × 0.70 = 49.00
  • HSC = 78.0 × 0.10 = 7.80
  • SSC = 82.0 × 0.10 = 8.20
  • Graduation = 71.0 × 0.10 = 7.10
  • Merit ≈ 49.00 + 7.80 + 8.20 + 7.10 = 72.1 (out of 100)

If GEN cut-off = 71.5 → Status: Above by +0.6

Tips & Notes

  • Always check your official notification/handbook for the exact weights and rounding rules.
  • If your scheme uses additional components (e.g., NCC/bonus/experience), add them as rows and assign a weight or add an "Additive points" row (set weight 0 and just treat it as bonus; note this in the summary).
  • Keep documentation of your entries: export CSV/JSON or use the Share Link to save your configuration.

FAQs

No. Presets are illustrative only. Replace with numbers from your official scheme.

You can enforce 100% or let the tool scale your weights proportionally. Using 100 makes it easier to interpret merits as "out of 100."

Yes. Add a row named "Bonus/Experience" and set a weight if your scheme uses a weighted percent, or add it as a separate note and manually adjust your merit after calculation.
