How to Calculate Your CGPA

Your CGPA is a weighted average of all your semester GPAs. Semesters with more credit hours have a greater impact on your final CGPA. The formula is: CGPA = Total Quality Points / Total Credit Hours, where Quality Points for each semester are calculated as (Semester GPA × Credit Hours).

Inputs Explained

  • Semester Name: (Optional) A label for your reference, like "Fall 2023" or "Year 1".
  • Semester GPA: The GPA you achieved for that specific semester.
  • Credit Hours: The total number of credit hours you attempted during that semester.

Example

Let's say you completed two semesters:

  • Fall 2023: 3.50 GPA, 15 Credit Hours (Quality Points = 3.50 × 15 = 52.5)
  • Spring 2024: 3.80 GPA, 16 Credit Hours (Quality Points = 3.80 × 16 = 60.8)

Total Credit Hours = 15 + 16 = 31
Total Quality Points = 52.5 + 60.8 = 113.3
Calculated CGPA = 113.3 / 31 = 3.65
