How to Calculate Your UOS GPA
Your GPA is calculated by dividing the total quality points earned by the total credit hours taken. Quality points for each course are determined by multiplying the course's credit hours by the grade points you received (e.g., an 'A' in a 3-credit hour course is 3 × 4.0 = 12 quality points).
Inputs Explained
- Course Name: (Optional) Enter a name for your reference (e.g., "Calculus I").
- Credit Hours: The number of credit hours for the course (e.g., 3, 1, 4).
- Grade: Select the letter grade you received (A, B, C, D, F).
Example
Let's say you took three courses:
- English (3 credits, Grade A): 3 × 4.0 = 12 Quality Points
- Physics (4 credits, Grade B): 4 × 3.0 = 12 Quality Points
- History (2 credits, Grade C): 2 × 2.0 = 4 Quality Points
Total Credits = 3 + 4 + 2 = 9
Total Quality Points = 12 + 12 + 4 = 28
Calculated GPA = 28 / 9 = 3.11
