Calculate Screed Volume
Typical: 1-2 inches (25-50mm)
Typical: 5-10%
Typical: 2200-2400 kg/m³
How it Works
Volume = Area × Thickness. We calculate volume in ft³ or m³, apply an optional waste factor, and convert to cubic yards or cubic meters. If you provide a screed density, we also estimate metric tonnes.
Inputs Explained
- Area & Thickness: Enter length, width, thickness, and units.
- Volume Direct: Enter volume and units directly.
- Waste Factor: Add 5-10% for spillage and over-ordering.
- Density: Optional; default 2200 kg/m³ for tonnage estimates.
Example
Area 15×12 ft (180 ft²), Thickness 1 in (0.083 ft):
- Volume = 180 × 0.083 = 14.94 ft³
- Adjusted (5% waste) = 15.69 ft³
- 0.58 cu yd → 0.44 m³
- ~0.97 tonnes (2200 kg/m³)

Tips & Notes
- Add a waste factor (5–10%) to account for over‑ordering and spillage.
- Screed density varies; use a local supplier's value for accurate tonnage.
- Use the preset buttons for common room sizes.
FAQs
1 cubic yard ≈ 0.7646 cubic meters. The calculator does this automatically.
Around 2,200–2,400 kg/m³. Adjust based on your supplier's data.
It supports both. Choose your units for inputs and outputs.
