Calculate Side Length or Area
Typical: 0-10%
How it Works
For a square, Side Length = sqrt(Area). For a regular polygon with n sides, Side Length = sqrt((Area × 4 × tan(π/n)) / n). We apply an optional waste factor.
Inputs Explained
- Calculation Mode: Choose direction (side from area or area from side).
- Area & Number of Sides: Enter area and select shape.
- Side Length & Number of Sides: Enter side length and select shape.
- Waste Factor: Optional; add 0-10% for cuts and waste.
Example
Square: Area 25 m²
Side Length = sqrt(25) = 5 m
Regular Hexagon (n=6): Area 30 m²
Side Length = sqrt((30 × 4 × tan(π/6)) / 6) ≈ 3.72 m

Tips & Notes
- This assumes a perfect square or regular polygon. Real-world shapes may vary.
- Add a waste factor (0–10%) for cuts and waste.
- Use the preset buttons for common shapes.
FAQs
