Calculate Your SGPA
Your SGPA
Total Credits: 0
Weighted Points: 0
Grade Scale: S=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, E=4, F=0
This is an estimate. Verify with official VTU regulations for your scheme (CBCS/revised).
How it works
Your GPA is the weighted average of your grade points. We multiply each course's credits by its VTU grade point (S=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, E=4, F=0), add them up, and divide by total credits.
Formula: SGPA = Σ(credits × grade_points) / Σ(credits)
Example: If you have 15 credits total and your weighted points sum to 120, your SGPA = 120 / 15 = 8.00. Results are rounded to 2 decimal places.
Inputs explained
- Course Name: Optional (helps when exporting/sharing)
- Credits: Typically 1–5 per course; labs may be 1–2
- Grade: Choose S/A/B/C/D/E/F (defaults use VTU points; edit in Advanced)
- Options: Treat E as pass (4 points); exclude F from denominator (check with your rules)
- Advanced: Change scale, import/export CSV, share link, reset defaults
Example
Sample courses:
| Course | Credits | Grade | Points | Weighted |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Math | 4 | A (9) | 9 | 4×9 = 36 |
| Signals | 4 | B (8) | 8 | 4×8 = 32 |
| Lab | 1 | S (10) | 10 | 1×10 = 10 |
| Mechanics | 3 | C (7) | 7 | 3×7 = 21 |
| Elective | 3 | D (6) | 6 | 3×6 = 18 |
| Total | 15 | 117 |
SGPA = 117 / 15 = 7.80
Tips & notes
- Confirm your department's latest scheme (CBCS vs revised) for grade letters and pass rules.
- If you repeated a course, VTU policy may replace the older grade—check your regulations.
- Use Export/Share to keep a record; verify official results with your marks card.
- Different schemes may have different fail/pass thresholds and grade definitions.
